Cookies and consent
We use cookies on this website. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Some are strictly necessary for the operation of the site (e.g. storing your cookie consent); others we use only if you give us your consent.
On your first visit, a cookie notice (banner) appears at the bottom of the page. There you can choose:
- “Necessary only” – only technically required cookies are set (e.g. to store your choice). No analytics or marketing cookies.
- “Accept all” – we also set cookies from Google Analytics (see next section) to analyse how the site is used.
We store your choice in the cookie “mcldev_cookie_consent” (storage period: 1 year, path=/, SameSite=Lax). You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting this cookie and reloading the page – the cookie banner will appear again.
Google Analytics
If you have chosen “Accept all” in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).
Google Analytics collects, among other things, page views, scroll behaviour, clicks on external links and form interactions. The information generated (including your truncated IP address) is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA.
The legal basis for using Google Analytics is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The transfer of data to the USA is based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, supplementary measures (see Google’s privacy policy). The USA is not currently recognised by the EU Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection; the transfer involves certain risks (e.g. access by authorities).
For more information on how Google collects and uses data, see Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Information on Google Analytics: support.google.com/analytics.
You can withdraw your consent to Google Analytics at any time by choosing “Necessary only” in the cookie banner (you may need to delete the “mcldev_cookie_consent” cookie first and reload the page) or by using a browser add-on to disable Google Analytics.
